1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in.
2. Cookies We Use
EquiCloset uses only strictly necessary (essential) cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any cookies that track your behaviour across other websites.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Keeps you logged in during your session. Set by Django (our web framework). Without this cookie, you cannot use the Platform. | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
csrftoken |
Protects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. This is a security measure required by Django. Without this cookie, forms on the Platform cannot be submitted. | 1 year (standard Django default) |
messages |
Stores temporary notifications (e.g., “Item listed successfully”) to be shown on the next page load. Deleted immediately after the message is displayed. | Single use (deleted after display) |
3. Third-Party Cookies
Stripe (Payment Processing — UK)
When you proceed to checkout, Stripe may set cookies on your device for fraud prevention and payment security. These are set by Stripe, not by EquiCloset. For more information, see Stripe’s Cookie Policy.
Peach Payments (Payment Processing — South Africa)
When you proceed to checkout in South Africa, Peach Payments may set cookies on your device for fraud prevention and payment security. These are set by Peach Payments, not by EquiCloset. For more information, see Peach Payments’s Terms.
Cloudflare
Our platform is served through Cloudflare’s network. Cloudflare may set a cookie (__cf_bm) for bot management and to protect the site from automated traffic. This is a strictly necessary security cookie.
4. What We Do Not Do
We do not: use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other analytics service; place advertising cookies or retargeting cookies; track your activity across other websites; sell or share cookie data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Managing Cookies
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner — these cookies are required for the Platform to function. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, but be aware that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the Platform.

6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page.
